The tour will begin by following the beautiful Guernsey coastline ascending southwards up Le Val de Terre from St Peter Port, from where there is a splendid panoramic view over the North of the Island, passing the former garrison of Fort George before a stop at Sausmarez Manor. The manor is regarded as one of Guernsey’s most interesting and beautiful attractions, whose gardens have received international acclaim. The Art Park, set in the manor grounds, has more sculptors exhibiting their work than anywhere else in Britain.

Next, the group will visit the Little Chapel. Beautifully decorated with seashells, pebbles and colourful pieces of broken china, this tiny chapel is thought to be the smallest chapel in the world. Following this, you will stop at Bruce Russell & Son, Gold and Silversmith, one of Guernsey’s largest manufacturers of fine jewellery. Like many of the Island’s attractions it incorporates award-winning gardens, boasting a large a large, colourful floral garden with water features and flowers in every corner.

The tour will continue through St. Saviour, passing its ancient 14th and 15th century parish church, then through the parishes of St Pierre du Bois and Torteval, the Island’s smallest parish, and on to Pleinmont, the south west point of the Island. The coach will then travel along the West coast of the Island taking in its many picturesque beaches such as Perelle Bay, Vazon Bay, and Cobo Bay before returning to the hotel.

Day 3: Guernsey

Morning cliff walk accompanied by local guide (4hrs)

You will be transferred by coach to the start of a cliff walk. Your guide will pick the itinerary and length of the walk according to group fitness.

Afternoon coach tour accompanied by local guide (3.5hrs)

The first stop of this afternoon tour will be a visit to La Petite Vallee Private Garden, a beautiful collection of gardens in St Peter Port. This 3 acre garden contains a wealth of rare and unusual plants and features an orchard, formal lawn, stream path, a tropical area, a bog garden, a magnificent water feature and a koi pond. The garden combines many different styles and is made up of several levels, resulting in splendid views of the surrounding area.

The next visit is to the Guernsey Clematis Nursery, one of the largest specialist clematis nurseries in the world. The nursery produces more than 3 million young clematis plants every year in nearly 200 species and cultivars. Guernsey Clematis Nursery is responsible for 20% of the world’s market of young plants, exporting to the USA, Canada, Europe and Great Britain.

Day 4: Herm

The group will be transferred by coach to the port for the short boat crossing to Herm.

Morning trip to Herm accompanied by local guide

Herm is a peaceful floral paradise made up of idyllic white sand beaches, secluded bays, green commons, sand dunes and spectacular cliff walks. From the Island’s main village you can follow the footpath round the coast to the Island’s two main beaches. The bigger of two, Shell Beach, is so named because the sand is in fact made up of tiny fragments of shell. Further round the coast is the pretty Belvoir Bay, a secluded cove surrounded by beautiful scenery which is popular with families and local yachtsmen. The tranquil island represented the Bailiwick of Guernsey in the 2002 Britain in Bloom competition and did extremely well, winning a gold award and being named the overall winner in the Small Coastal Resorts category.

You will return to Guernsey early in the afternoon by ferry, where you will have a leisurely 15 minute walk to Candie Gardens, the award winning, restored Victorian gardens with splendid views across St Peter Port harbour. Candie Gardens offer a rare example of a late 19th Century public flower garden and are home to the oldest known heated glass-houses in the British Isles, which date back to the late 18th Century.

The group will be transferred back to the hotel from the town centre by coach.

Day 5: Guernsey & Sark

Full day coach tour accompanied by local guide (8hrs)

The tour will begin with a visit to Les Videclins private garden, a private garden surrounding old Guernsey farmhouses and stables. The garden consists of several different sections and is a surprising combination of artistry and plantsmanship. The grounds enjoy wonderful views of the surrounding fields and the largest area of woodland in Guernsey, making the garden a haven of tranquillity.

The tour will next stop at Ste. Appoline’s Chapel, built in 1394 and thought to be the only remaining medieval chantry chapel in Guernsey. The chapel is one of only three remaining in anything like their original form in the Channel Islands.

The third visit of the day before the crossing to Sark will be to Mille Fleurs private garden, an idyllic two and a half acre country garden. The grounds feature Mediterranean planting, cottage boarders, a vegetable patch and a bog garden, in which a natural spring feeds into three small ponds. There is also a “Jungle” area, home to a stunning variety of subtropical plants which thrive in Guernsey’s mild climate.

The tour will end at the port ready for the boat crossing to Sark, accompanied by your guide. On arrival in Sark your luggage will be transferred from the harbour to your accommodation and a tractor will be waiting to transfer guests up the hill to the hotel.

Sark's Horse-Drawn Carriages

Day 6: Brecqhou & Sark

Morning trip to Brecqhou accompanied by local guide

The group will take the 10am ferry to visit the private gardens in the exclusive and private island of Brecqhou. Over the past 16 years around 190,000 trees, shrubs and flowers have been planted on Brecqhou and the landscaped gardens have developed and matured into an idyllic haven for 2,000 species.

Horse & Carriage Tour of Sark (2hrs)

At 1pm you will return to Sark where you will explore everything that the little Island has to offer from a horse and carriage tour.

The group will visit La Seigneurie Gardens, some of the finest formal gardens in the Channel Islands which lie in the grounds of the official home of the Seigneur. Having been recognized by the Royal Horticultural Society, the gardens feature a diverse range of flora, some of which could only survive under glass on the British mainland. Parts of the gardens are thought to date back as far as the 6th century and the grounds are scattered with fascinating artefacts revealing glimpses into Sark’s unique history.

Day 7: Sark & Guernsey

In the morning you will be transferred by tractor to the harbour for the ferry crossing back to Guernsey.

Walking tour of St Peter Port accompanied by local guide

Guernsey’s capital, St Peter Port, is located on the East coast of the Island and it is widely considered to be the Channel Island’s most beautiful town. The idyllic little town consists of steep, narrow streets and features the Island’s best selection of shops, restaurants, hotels and tourist attractions.

Following the walking tour of St Peter Port the group will visit Hauteville House and Gardens. The house belonged to Victor Hugo during his exile to the Island from 1855 to 1870 and has been preserved exactly as it was, as Hugo spent many months decorating the house to reflect his own creativity.

Following the walking tour you will be transferred back to your accommodation by coach.
